What is coaching? And why a strengths approach?

Coaching has been defined in many ways. The essence of coaching is:
• To help a person change in the way they wish and helping them go in the direction they want to go.
• Coaching supports a person at every level in becoming who they want to be.
• Coaching builds awareness empowers choice and leads to change.

In this workshop, we focus on strengths coaching which is founded on the assumption that positive attributes exist within everyone and these can be support people to build their human potential and to reach goals.
Participants discover a STRONG goals framework developed by Fatima Doman founder and author of Authentic Strengths Advantage.

This is a 90 min introductory strengths coaching session designed to engage participants through an energising delivery taping into current research based strategies,incorporating a mix of high visual content and activities.

This focus on finding and building upon people’s strengths fundamentally changes the nature of assessments, interventions, and the questions coaches draw upon.

A strengths approach is a positive and collaborative approach - helping people to channel intrinsic motivation and core strength.

The best way to coach another is to learn the principles in coaching yourself. Participants set a goal for themself using the STRONG goal framework and have an accountability partner.

This course will be of value to all team members and leaders who wish to elevate their own and others ability to reach their potential professionally or personally. It is a foundations introduction to strengths-based coaching and further builds on the knowledge established in earlier workshops.
